Help Protect This Location
Since this site was discovered in 1986, it has not been appropriately protected from vandalism, tours have not been organized to the location, and the significance of the site has not been emphasized or categorically studied. Especially in the last several years, vandalism has occurred in the form of people scratching their names into the rock. Partially this is because it is in such a remote location.

One way for this protection to occur is to ask the Park Service to provide Gordon Smith with a concession to lead mule rides to the site regularly. In turn, the site would be protected because there would be someone there to watch and maintain it. Traffic to the site would be monitored ongoing.

Other ideas are to contact the Park Service and petition for the site to be properly protected and studied, or contact the Secretary of the Interior with any other ideas for the protection and maintenance of this important site.
