News: March 10, 2006
Gordon Smith was contacted on March 10, 2006 regarding this web site by the National Park Service. Click here to read the letter.
Gordon's Response To The Letter:
These hikes are not of a commercial nature. They are offered to educate the public about an important rock art site in the Grand Canyon that has gone unstudied and kept secret for too long. These hikes are offered free, you can get in and out in one day, and the hike begins and ends on BLM land. If you wish to stay overnight anywhere in the National Park, you must have a backcountry application. Click here to get your backcountry application.
Also note that if you wish to go to the Panel on your own, I will provide you with free maps and detailed information.
This is a very spiritual and ancient site, perhaps the oldest rock art panel in North America. Do not go there if your intentions are bad, and please tread lightly. Thank you.
